The Lions Master Coach Rugby Factory launched its academy at Laerskool Kenmare in Krugersdorp and will launch it again at Laerskool Randhart in Alberton at 15.00.

There is an entrance fee for prospective players of R300 each. Apart form introduction, explanation and some coaching, the players each get a T-shirt and a cap.

The programme provides for players between 9 and 18 and can include players who have matriculated but want a gap year.

The coaches will be at the launch and they are a fine array of playing and coaching ability - Hans Coetzee, who coached Monnas, the Golden Lions Craven Week team, SA Schools and the Golden Lions Currie Cup team, Stefan Lotter, who has coached Monnas, the Golden Lions Craven Week team and the Golden Lions Under-19 and Amateurs, Jaque Fourie, a Springbok in 72 Tests and a World Cup winner, Julian Redelinghuys, the Springbok prop, threequarter Alwyn Hollenbach, who was four times in a team that won the Currie Cup, and Pietie Meyer, a former Lions scrumhalf who has been coaching for 19 years.

All are welcome at the launch.
