Steyn's Brive move to fall through?

EXCLUSIVE: Despite having signed a pre-contract agreement to join Brive at the conclusion of the current season, Springbok flyhalf Morne Steyn seems to be in the process of changing his mind.

It all happens from minute 43!

Steyn has been at Stade Francais since 2013 and was all set to join Brive but the announcement that Heyneke Meyer will be coaching the Paris club on a two-year deal and it seems that he has been trying to convince Steyn to stick around in the French capital.

This would mean though that the club would have to pay a fine to Brive

"Everyone is very excited for him [Heyneke Meyer] to come, especially me even though I'm probably going to Brive but I am very excited for him to come and make some differences at the club because I think they will do well with him and he will make some good changes.

"I am looking forward to him arriving. I have worked with him for a couple of years and I think he will be very successful with the club.

"I think he [Heyneke] is trying his utmost best to keep me at the club. I am busy speaking to him and we are trying to organise as much as we can [for me to remain at Stade Francais] but there is a bit of a fine because I already signed a pre-contract with Brive.

On the one side I am excited about a new place but on the other, I would love to stay at Stade Francais and spend another 2 years with coach Heyneke. We are trying our best to do what is best for us and hopefully we can stay," Steyn said.
