Bothma becomes the second Bulls player to be named a captain of an international side. In recent days Adriaan Strauss was also named captain of the South African international team.

Commenting on this selection to lead his country, the Bulls High Performance Manager, Xander Janse van Rensburg congratulated the flanker.

"It is fantastic news and well deserved. We just had Adriaan Strauss being named captain of the Springboks and now Renaldo will captain the Namibians.

"It is great to have such great leadership depth in any union and the Bulls are in a very fortunate position to have two international captains in their midst," said Janse van Rensburg.
