Scotland lose another big name as Tests loom

Brown sustained the injury during Glasgow Warriors' European Champions Cup defeat to Exeter Chiefs last weekend.

Glasgow Warriors revealed that he will be out for up to eight weeks.

The 28-year-old’s absence is another blow for Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend after captain Greig Laidlaw suffered a fractured ankle that will keep him out of the Tests against Samoa, New Zealand and Australia next month.

Brown will be sorely missed by Glasgow in Saturday’s Champions Cup clash with Leinster as well as a double-header against Montpellier and a host of Pro14 encounters.

There is positive news on Glasgow and Scotland fullback Stuart Hogg, who will make his first appearance of the season against Leinster on Saturday after recovering from shoulder surgery.
