Player Ratings: Defensively frail

Going into the break deadlocked at 10-10, Wales would be kicking themselves to concede 26 points in the manner they did as they were completely outplayed and outsmarted in the final 40 minutes.

It was not all doom and gloom for the Welsh though, and despite losing the Series, there are quite a few players who can hold their heads high after a decent performance.

We rate the Welsh players!

15 Rhys Patchell

Explosive runs by the fullback who was brought into the team this week but his defense let him down.

6/10

14 Liam Williams

Picked up where he left off last week by causing plenty of headaches for the All Blacks.

8/10

13 Jonathan Davies

He may have slipped some tackles on defence but he provided plenty of impetus with ball in hand.

7/10

12 Jamie Roberts

A steady performance in midfield but will certainly need to improve his tackling.

5/10

11 Hallam Amos

No matter how many solid carries you have, you need to balance that with a good defensive effort – something he did not do.

6/10

10 Dan Biggar

We got to see a little bit more of his overall game, which was pretty impressive.

6/10

9 Rhys Webb

Sniping breaks with snappy service from the scrumhalf who did plenty of work on defence.

7/10

8 Taulupe Faletau

Relatively ineffective when you compare it to what we have come to know from the big No.8.

5/10

7 Sam Warburton (captain)

Plenty of hard work done by the captain who certainly had an improved outing this time around.

6/10

6 Ross Moriarty

Forced into more of a defensive role but performed admirably.

5/10

5 Alun Wyn Jones

We have come to expect him to perform week in and week out but there will be times when it is just not your day.

4/10

4 Luke Charteris

Not much to say about a player who did more defending than attacking.

3/10

3 Samson Lee

His defensive work was satisfactory but offered very little when asked to do the hard yard.

3/10

2 Ken Owens

He performed his hooker duties well but failed to offer more in other aspects of the game.

3/10

1 Gethin Jenkins

Stood up tot he All Black challenge and put in some pretty decent tackles.

4/10

Replacements:

16 Scott Baldwin (on for Owens, 62nd min)

Seemed a bit lost during his time on the park.

2/10

17 Rob Evans (on for Jenkins, 31st and 59th mins)

Had two chances to make an impact but failed to do so on both occasions.

2/10

18 Tomas Francis (on for Lee, 62nd min)

Another player who could not make an impact off the bench.

2/10

19 Bradley Davies (on for Charteris, 62nd min)

Had a decent amount of time on the park to stamp his authority but that never happened.

2/10

20 Ellis Jenkins (on for Warburton, 76th min)

Not enough time to be rated

21 Gareth Davies (on for Webb, 78th min)

Not enough time to be rated
