Player ratings: Au revoir

They could not match their opponents in the physical exchanges up front nor could they contain the All Blacks' lethal backs out wide in the 62-13 thrashing.

Warren Fortune rates the French players!

15 Scott Spedding

Was the best player French backline. He took the ball to the line with some serious intent and gave the French some spark on attack.

6/10

14 Noa Nakaitaci

Had some nice touches but got owned by Julian Savea out wide. His crucial missed tackle in the first half also resulted in a try for the New Zealand No.11.

3/10

13 Alexandre Dumoulin

Missed a few crucial tackles in the midfield and looked busy on attack without making much ground with ball in hand.

4/10

12 Wesley Fofana

Worked hard in the midfield but he was outplayed by Ma'a Nonu. He got over the advantage line with a couple of runs, but also got smashed as well on a few occasions.

6/10

11 Brice Dulin

Came to life at the start of the second half and was brave in the physical exchanges with his small frame.

5/10

10 Frederic Michalak

Normally there would not be a rating for so little time on the field, however, in his 11 minutes Michalak missed two crucial tackles and his charged-down kick resulted in a try for Brodie Retallick.

1/10

9 Morgan Parra

He passed a lot and kicked at goal a bit. Another predictable performance by a French scrumhalf.

3/10

8 Louis Picamoles

Was his team's best player on the field with his barnstorming runs – one of which resulted in a fantastic try. He was aggressive in the tackle, but he also missed a few as well. He was also disrespectful to Richie McCaw.

5/10

7 Bernard Le Roux

Gave a brave performance on defence – in fact the South African-born flank made more tackles than any other player in his team. However, he hardly carried the ball and did not have a big impact at the breakdowns.

6/10

6 Thierry Dusautoir (captain)

Was a marked man during the game and did not have the same impact he normally does on games. He hardly made any metres with his runs and also missed a number of tackles.

4/10

5 Yoann Maestri

Did not have much impact in the line-outs and took the ball up in open play without any real aggression. It was a poor performance by the big lock.

4/10

4 Pascal Pape

Got beaten in the line-outs on a few occasions by the great Brodie Retallick and just like his locking partner he failed to make an impact in open play.

4/10

3 Rabah Slimani

The muscular prop struggled a bit in scrums and was put under pressure by Joe Moody on a few occasions. He also got bullied more than once in the tackle.

3/10

2 Guilhem Guirado

The hooker had an indifferent performance with his line-out throwing. He did make a few good tackles, but did not do much with ball in hand.

3/10

1 Eddy Ben Arous

He do ok in the scrums against Owen Franks, but other than that he hid absolutely nothing for his team – apart from making a few tackles.

2/10

Replacements:

16 Dimitri Szarzewski (On for G Guirado, 56 min)

The line-outs seemed to improve a bit when he came but the game was all but over by then.

5/10

17 Vincent Debaty (On for EB Arous, 61 min)

Dis not carry the ball at all when he came one. In fact the only significant thing he did in the 19 minutes he was on the field was make one tackle.

1/10

18 Nicolas Mas (On for R Slimani, 60 min)

Phillip Saint-Andre should have left him on the bench. He was lazy for the 20 minutes he won on the field and it looked like he was ball-watching for most of the time.

1/10

19 Damien Chouly (On for L Picamoles, 72 min)

Not enough time to be rated.

20 Yannick Nyanga (On for P Pape, 47 min)

He did a lot of offensive work but was missing when his team needed him on defence.

5/10

21 Rory Kockott (On for M Parra, 68 min)

Not enough time to be rated.

22 Remi Tales (On for F Michalak, 11 min)

It was not a good display by the replacement flyhalf. He fell off tackles in the midfield and struggled to create attacking opportunities for his backline.

4/10

23 Mathieu Bastareaud (On for A Dumoulin, 61 min)

Did not have a lot of opportunities, but he did have one good run where he got his team over the advantage line.

3/10
