Kearsney at Clifton 7s Tournament
SCHOOLS SEVENS: In Kearsney’s opening group match of the Clifton 7s tournament they drew 14-14 with St Charles and in the second match against an Invitation side they comfortably won 43-0.
The final group match was against Voortrekker, who managed to beat St Charles. This meant Kearsney’s game against them would determine the group winners to go through to the cup semi-finals. Kearsney put together a very disciplined and composed performance and were rewarded with a 33-0 victory.
Kearsney’s semifinal against Westville was a closely contested affair which Westville won 17-07.
Ten minutes after their semi-final loss, Kearsney were up against Northwood in the 3rd and 4th playoff. Both teams had to dig deep after a gruelling day of rugby and it was great to see the Botha’s Hill team work so hard for victory. Final score 17-12 to Kearsney.
