Burger: Sarries staying grounded
The World Cup winner joined the champions this season and has now taken part in the last four of the record-equalling wins. Parc y Scarlets will be the venue for a record-breaking assault in Round Five when they will attempt to extend their winning run to 14.
"It speaks volumes of the team and the roll that we are on. We just have to keep working hard and not get ahead of ourselves," Burger told epcrugby.com.
"It was always going to be difficult after putting Sale under a lot of pressure last week. They didn't let us down and they came out firing and it was only towards the 60th minute that we got our scrum and maul going and were able to put them away."
Saracens Director of Rugby Mark McCall is well aware that the next two games will be crucial in clinching a quarterfinal spot in the New Year. He noted the Scarlets beat RC Toulon at home at the weekend and is another who won't take anything for granted despite having an eight-point cushion at the top of Pool Three.
"We've two difficult games to come in January to complete the pool and there are still points to be played for. We got a very different Sale Sharks tonight," said McCall.
"They made it difficult for us. It wasn't the greatest game to watch, but we stuck to our guns, dominated field position and got the win in the end.
"We had to stay in the fight and keep on doing the right things and it was a good win for us. It was a really game against a good Sale Sharks side."
