Undisciplined De Allende to face the music

NEWS: Errant replacement Damian de Allende is to face the music for his costly act of indiscretion in South Africa's 24-25 loss to New Zealand at the weekend.

De Allende was red-carded in the 75th minute of the Rugby Championship Henco encounter at Newlands, for a late charge on All Black replacement flyhalf Lima Sopoaga.

De Allende struck his opponent with the elbow in the throat.

Sopoaga slotted the subsequent penalty, which ultimately proved to be the difference in as thrilling encounter between the two arch-rivals.

De Allende will appear before a SANZAAR judicial hearing and is being charged with having contravened Law 10.4(o): Late charging the kicker.

The Case is to be considered in the first instance by the SANZAAR foul play review committee, which will take place on Sunday - October 8.

All SANZAAR disciplinary matters are in the first instance referred to the foul play review committee to provide the option of expediting the judicial process.

For a matter to be dispensed with at this hearing, the person appearing must plead guilty and accept the penalty offered by the foul play review committee.
