Sio role within the side has been modified especially after veteran Stephen Moore joined Australian rivals the Reds, and star flank David Pocock's  year-long sabbatical from Australian Rugby.

"The dynamic of the group have changed, certain players find themselves in different roles. Myself included, I am now one of the experienced players in the squad. Not so long ago I was one of the younger players," Sio said.

"Along with the other Wallabies in the team, we have tried to take the leadership role in the team and instil some core values to keep the standard of the Brumbies up.Sio relishes new Brumbies role

"It's new for me, it’s a new challenge but I'm really excited," he added.

The Brumbies have added 13 new players into their program, one of them being the likes of Rob Valentini.

The 18-year-old joined from the Melbourne Rebels and have been training hard with the Canberra side in making his Super Rugby dream a reality.

"Training has been tough, but I have been learning a lot from the boys especially Sio.

"I am surprised that I have adapted so well to the environment. Just straight out of school and now chasing my dream," he said.

"I am pushing for that Super Rugby debut this year, trying to challenge for a spot and not use my age as a disadvantage," he added.

Sio has been really impressed with the youngster and praised his determinations.

"I am really proud that [Valetini] wants to be known as an all round player. I love the fact that he wants to come in and play, not just take a back seat.

"It has been great watching him on the field and challenging the boys in his position. It can only strengthen our squad moving forward," Sio said.
