Taliauli signs two-year deal with Brumbies

A former Australian Sevens representative and NRL player with the Gold Coast Titans, Taliauli has been with the Brumbies for three seasons now, making 15 appearances and scoring three tries.

Taliauli made his debut for the Brumbies in Round One 2015 against the Queensland Reds and immediately impressed with his footwork and top end speed.

The 24-year old has not appeared for the Brumbies in Super Rugby in 2017 after suffering a torn ACL in the pre-season fixture against the Australian Barbarians at Viking Park.

Taliauli said he was ecstatic to be re-signing with the Brumbies.

"I am very excited to be re-signing with the Brumbies for the next two seasons," Taliauli commented.

"This year has understandably been a disappointing one for me on a personal level after I got injured in pre-season. I felt my form had been good leading into that match and to suffer the knee injury was a blow.

"My recuperation has gone very well and I am delighted that the Brumbies will be my home for the next two Super Rugby competitions. I hope to come back fully fit and push for a starting place next year.

"I would like to thank the Brumbies medical team who have been excellent in helping me recover and getting me back in a position where I can give my best on the field."

Brumbies assistant coach Dan McKellar said he was looking forward to working with Taliauli for the next two years.

"We are very happy that Lausii has agreed to a new two-year deal with us here at the Brumbies," McKellar said.

"Lausii is a wing that has genuine try scoring ability. Importantly, he brings size and physicality to the backline. Although he has been unlucky with injury this season, we are confident that he will return to full fitness and reach his potential in our program."
