Du Preez mum on 'bad officiating'

According to Ellis Park officials, he initially refused to attend the post-match press conference, however, when he arrived, he was clearly unhappy with what transpired during the game.

When asked what he made of the decision towards the end of the match, he remained mum.

"The final one – the one under the poles? Or the one near the touchline? What do you make of it? I can't comment on bad officiating, you know that. You have to make up your mind whether it was right or wrong," Du Preez answered.

Despite his refusal to take part in the required post-match conference, Du Preez praised his side for their efforts.

"The guys were really great today, every single one of them. We were all very pleased with the way it went but unfortunately, we didn't get the result.

"We lost a bit of momentum in the first 10 minutes after half-time and the Lions did really well to score two tries," he added.

The result knocked the Sharks out of the Super Rugby competition while the Lions will now host the Hurricanes at Ellis Park on July 29.
