Preview: Varsity Cup, Round Nine

The action gets underway in Potchefstroom in what is a must-win encounter for both sides. The home side, Pukke, will need to defeat the table-topping Tuks with a bonus-point if they are to snatch a semi-final spot away from Shimlas.

Similarly, a bonus-point victory for Tuks would see them top the table and host a semi-final and possible Final, should they progress. Failure to do so will leave the door open for either Maties or UJ to claim top spot.

By the time Maties and UJ take to the field, they will know if top spot remains a reality or not. Even if top spot is no longer up for grabs, a win for either side will see them host a semi-final.

In the other matches – which will not affect the outcome of the top four – CUT-Ixias host NMMU-Madibaz in a match to avoid last place on the log and Wits host UCT-Ikeys.
