1987

It was Wales’s first participation at the World Cup.

There was no qualification process due to Wales being an IRFB member.

Huw Richards was the first player to receive a red card at a World Cup.

Wales collected 126 points- with only 104 conceded in the competition.

1991

The second edition of the World Cup was jointly hosted by Wales, England Scotland, Ireland and France.

They received automatic qualification, due to them being ending third in the previous World Cup.

Wales went out in the pool stages, after ending third in the group.

Alan Daries coached the side-with Ieuan Evans being captain.

The biggest shock came when new comers Samoa defeated Wales 16-13 in a pool stage match.

Wales collected 32 points- with only 61 conceded in the competition.

Their biggest loss was 38-3 against Australia in Cardiff.

1995

Wales participated in their third World Cup.

Wales qualified through regional qualifiers.

For the second World Cup in a throw, Wales went out in the pool stages.

Alex Evans coached the side-with Mike Hall being captain.

Wales collected 89 points- with only 68 conceded in the competition.

Gareth Thomas three tries was the most by a Welsh player in the tournament.

Their biggest winning margin was again 45 points when they crushed Japan 57-10 in a pool game.

1999

Wales hosted the World Cup for a second time and the first country to host it in a professional eara.

Wales had participation in their fourth World Cup.

Wales were knocked-out in the quarterfinals by Australia- with a 24-9 loss.

Graham Henry coached the side-with Robert Howley being captain.

Seven players scored tries, in their 64-15 win over Japan- with Mark Taylor scoring two.

Their biggest winning margin was again 49 points when they toppled Japan 64-15 in a pool game.

Wales collected 127 points- with only 95 conceded in the competition.

2003

Wales appeared in their fifth World Cup.

They received automatic qualification, due to them being knocked-out in the quarterfinals of the previous World Cup.

Wales were knocked-out in the quarterfinals by England- with a 28-17 loss.

Steven Hansen coached the side-with Colin Charvis being captain.

Sonny Parker and Colin Charvis ended the tournament on three tries.

Their biggest winning margin was 31 points when they defeated Canada 41-10 in a pool game.

Wales collected 149 points- with only 126 conceded in the competition.

2007

Wales appeared in their sixth World Cup.

The Welsh were knocked out in the pool stages of the tournament.

Wales received automatic qualification due to them being knocked-out in the quarterfinals of the previous tournament.

Gareth Jenkins coached the side-with Gareth Thomas being captain.

Their biggest winning margin was 54 points when they crushed Japan 78-18, in a pool game.

Wales collected 168 points- with only 105 conceded in the competition.

Their were 18 players who scored tries in the tournament for Wales- with one player scoring four tries, two scoring three tries and three scoring two tries.

2011

Wales appeared in their sixth World Cup

The Walsh received automatic qualification due to them ending third in there group of the previous tournament.

Wales ended fourth after their 21-18 loss to France in the Bronze medal match.

Warren Gatland coached the side-with Sam Warburton being captain.

Wales demolished Fiji 66-0 in their final pool game- with 10 players getting their name on the score sheet.

Wales collected 228 points- with only 74 conceded in the competition.

The Walsh scored 12 tries in their 81-7 win over Namibia. This was the most tries in a match- with the All Blacks and Springboks also scoring 12 tries in one match.
