It is home to Aviva Premiership side Exeter Chiefs- with their passionate fans, Sandy Park is fast becoming a stronghold of English club rugby.

Early records have shown that Exeter Chiefs have played a match as early as 1873- with it being built to replace the Country Ground in 2006. The club’s new home was completed and they planned to expand it, rising from 8000 to 10,744. The combination of Chiefs establishment and the World Cup will see the capacity increase to 20,600.  Sandy Park will then become one of the biggest rugby grounds in England.

The ground has also hosted England Saxons v Ireland Wolfhounds in 2012- with England Saxons taking it 23-13.

This ground will host three 2015 Rugby World Cup Matches.
