All Blacks leave backline duo at home

SQUAD UPDATE: All Blacks head coach Steve Hansen has also trimmed his squad ahead of next weekend’s opening Bledisloe Cup clash against the Wallabies in Sydney.

Centre Sonny Bill Williams and outside back Nehe Milner-Skudder are not part of the squad that travelled to Sydney.

Williams is still recovering from a shoulder injury, while Milner-Skudder, who left the field with a jaw problem in Friday’s game of three halves, is set to play for Manawatu in New Zealand’s National Provincial Championship.

Meanwhile, Dane Coles has been included in the squad for the Sydney game. However, he isn’t expected to feature in Hansen’s matchday 23.

“We are taking over Colesy because we want to put some training into him from an intensity point of view,” Hansen told stuff.co.nz.
