England lock out with calf injury

SQUAD ANNOUNCEMENT: England lock George Kruis will miss his team’s final two November Tests against Japan and Australia because of a calf injury.

Kruis picked up the injury in his team’s narrow loss to the All Blacks at Twickenham last weekend.

England head coach Eddie Jones has selected 30 players to begin training on Tuesday ahead of England’s third Test of the in November against Japan.

The group include uncapped Ted Hill, Nick Schonert, Elliott Stooke and Joe Cokanasiga, with Hill included as an apprentice.

England opened their November internationals with a 12-11 victory over South Africa, before a 15-16 loss to New Zealand.

Saturday’s match against Japan will be the first time the two side’s have met each other since 1987 with England ending their November internationals versus Australia on November 24.
