This is not the first time the French side have tried to lure the 26-year-old Stormers lock to the Top 14.

The club, owned by billionaire owner Mourad Boudjellal, have tried to seal Etzebeth’s signature following the conclusion of the 2015 World Cup but failed dismally.

However, according to the French online publication, Minute Sports Rugby it seems that Toulon’s recent offer of €1 million (about R17 million) a year will be a lot harder to resist for the 70th Test Cap star.

Minute Sports Rugby have reported that the Toulon are eager to sign the lock after next year’s World Cup in Japan and also revealed that Mourad Boudjellal has been in regular contact with Etzebeth for several years.
