The tournament, with the teams divided into two pools, is set to start in November following the conclusion of this season’s delayed Six Nations.

According to the French publication  AFP, France will face Fiji, Italy and Scotland during November’s ‘Eight Nations’ tournament.

While Georgia has been invited to feature to replace Japan and will face England, Wales and Ireland.

Initially, there were speculations that South African could replace Japan –  after they pulled out because of Covid-19 travel restrictions.

However, in August, SANZAAR CEO Andy Marinos told Newshub there is “no substance” to the story.

And it seems like the rumours can finally be laid to rest following the latest report by AFP, which reveals the teams set to participate in the tournament.
