Bulls sign more Baby Boks

The Blue Bulls confirmed that they have extended the contracts of a number of players that will be available for the franchise in the next couple of seasons.

The Blue Bulls Company (Pty) Ltd revealed that several Junior Springbok signed on for an extended stay.

Travis Ismaiel, Ulrich Beyers, Paul Willemse, Dries Swanepoel, Irnè Herbst, Dennis Visser and Jacques du Plessis are amongst a group of players who decided to continue their careers at Loftus Versfeld.

The list of players (with date new contract expires) are:

* Jacques Rossouw (fullback), Travis Ismaiel (wing), Ulrich Beyers (utility back), Irné Herbst (lock), Dennis Visser (lock), Jacques du Plessis (No.8), Schalk van Heerden (lock) – signed until October 31, 2015.

* Paul Willemse (lock), Lodewyk de Jager (centre, not the Cheetahs lock), Dries Swanepoel (centre) – signed until October 31, 2014.

Commenting on the signings, BBM's High Performance Manager Xander Janse van Rensburg said these are the "new breed" of Blue Bulls players coming through the ranks.

"We are delighted to have them sign on," Janse van Rensburg said.

"They not only represent the future of Blue Bulls rugby, but also South African rugby, as shown by their performances when playing for national teams like the Junior Springboks."
