The side's star loose forward John Barclay underwent surgery on Monday after he ruptured his Achilles Tendon in the PRO14 semi-final, against former club Glasgow Warriors.

The 31-year-old is certain to miss the final against the Leinster on Saturday in Dublin.

Although the club has not revealed the loose forward's recovery period's time-frame, the Scotland captain is set to miss his country's June test series and is a huge doubt for their November Test Series against Wales, Fiji, South African and Argentina.

Barclay, who is leaving the Scarlets at the end of the season to join Edinburgh, will begin his recovery and rehabilitation in Scotland.
