Wasps get some sting from Force

Experienced hard-running centre Ben Jacobs will return to play for London Wasps this season, signing for his former club from Super Rugby side Western Force.

Jacobs first joined Wasps in 2009 and made an immediate impact in his first season making 33 appearances.

His second season with Wasps was equally successful from a personal perspective as he made 24 appearances, scored six tries, and was awarded try of the season for his effort against Newcastle Falcons.

He left the club in 2011 to join Japanese side Kyuden Voltex, where he spent nearly two seasons before migrating back to Australia to join Western Force.

London Wasps Director of Rugby Dai Young said his experience will be a big asset for them this season.

"Losing Lee Thomas to retirement recently was a real disappointment for both ourselves and the players, but Ben will come into that midfield mix and do a very good job for us," Young said.

"He knows the club inside out and was very keen to come back here so we're looking forward to him joining up with us again."
