Scotland vs France

Despite the late change to their side at Scotstoun Stadium, when No.8 Sarah Bonar withdrew, Scotland put up a brave fight against France. The change meant the Jade Konkel went to No.8 with Siobhan McMillan coming off the bench and into loosehead and Nicola Howat coming onto the bench.

Scotland started well and were actually the first to score when Sarah Law goaled a straightforward penalty, but then, despite having a player in the sin bin, the French forwards got on top of the aggressive Scots. The forwards went over for a try credited to Agathe Sochat and then a crosskick gave Cyrielle Banet a try, France led 12-3 at half-time.

Ireland vs Italy

It was the Irish scrummaging that set up the victory.

Ireland led 7-3 at half-time, their try thanks to a tighthead at a scrum, followed by a break by Katie Fitzhenry who sent wing Megan Williams in for a try.

Both Ireland's second half tries were scored by No.8 and captain, Ciara Griffin. The first came from an attack by the forwards which the captain finished off from close quarters. The second came from a driving Irish scrum which left Ciara Griffin the task of grounding the ball.
