Province are at home to the Bulls in the first round of the Currie Cup – what is likely to be the final north-south derby at Newlands

The team’s Springbok and World Cup-winning captain Siyamthanda Kolisi looks set to return from injury.

“Siya is fit, he has been training and is looking really good,” forwards coach Rito Hlungwani said of Kolisi.

“He is really excited to be involved with the team.”

Kolisi sustained a grade one hamstring tear against the Pumas in Round Three of Super Rugby Unlocked, back on October 23.

He suffered the injury in a ruck cleanout in the Stormers’ 42-37 win over the Pumas.

Also set for a timely return is fiery loose forward Jaco Coetzee, who Hlungwani said has also been training “really hard” and is also a “potential starter”.

Coetzee returns from a concussion-enforced lay-off.

Alister Vermaak also took part in a Tuesday scrumming session, after a lengthy lay-off with a back injury.

The WP forwards coach said he is “really happy” with the progress the seasoned prop has made.
