The 28-year-old, who is a key member of Fabien Galthie’s France team as it builds towards next year’s World Cup on home soil, injured his right leg during a warm-up match against Brive on Friday.

Fickou will consequently miss Racing’s Top 14 opener against last season’s runners-up Castres on Saturday.

He will also miss the subsequent games against Bayonne, Lyon, Toulouse and possibly La Rochelle.
