Powerful lock puts pen to paper for Sharks

CONTRACT NEWS: The Sharks are continuing to secure their future with another player putting pen to paper.

This time it is powerful lock Ruben van Heerden, 22, who has signed a contract extension, which will keep him with the Durban side until 2022.

Van Heerden has starred in the Sharks’ pack in Super Rugby this year with his big frame and ability to get his team over the gainline.

Meanwhile, prop Mzamo Majola, 25, has extended his stay with Sharks until 2023.

Van Heerden and Majola are part spree of confirmed re-signings for the Sharks over the last few weeks.

Some of the big players to extend their stays include Boks Makazole Mapimpi, Lukhanyo Am, Sikhumbuzo Notshe, Sibusiso Nkosi and Curwin Bosch.

Other players to put pen to paper include Madosh Tambwe, Kerron van Vuuren, Marius Louw, John-Hubert Meyer, Jaden Hendrikse, JJ van der Mescht, Khuta Mchunu, Dylan Richardson, James Venter, Evan Roos, Fez Mbatha.
