At the back of signing Springbok star Eben Etzebeth for next season, the Sharks have set their sights on Rohan Janse van Rensburg, the South African newspaper Rapport revealed.

The Springbok centre is currently plying his trade at Premiership club Sale Sharks.

Janse van Rensburg joined the Engling side in 2018 from the Lions and has become a vital part of the Sale set-up.

The robust 27-year-old’s move to Durban would be a major boost for the Sharks midfield, who are set to lose inside centre Marius Louw to the Lions.

The Rapport also revealed that Lions loose forward Vincent Tshituka has turned down offers from the English Premiership to join the Sharks in Durban.
