The Cape Town franchise confirmed that Rikus Pretorius has decided to move to Japan.

“Thanks for all the hard work in the blue and white jersey Rikus,” the Stormers said on their social media.

The announcement follows in the wake of confirmation that Seven Junior Springboks, including captain Sacha Mngomezulu, have signed contract extensions in Cape Town.

Mngomezulu is joined by national Under-20 teammates props Lamla Nunu and Corne Weilbach, hooker Lukhanyo Vokozela, lock Connor Evans, loose forward Louw Nel and fullback Duran Koevort in signing extensions.

Fellow Junior Springbok players Imad Khan (scrumhalf), Suleiman Hartzenberg (centre) and Paul de Villiers (loose forward) are all on existing contracts in an exciting junior group.

Earlier this week the Stormers’ midfield depth announced the signing of Griquas centre Christopher Hollis.
