On Monday, the Lions revealed that versatile backline star Tiaan Swanepoel will be out of action for approximately eight to 10 weeks.

The 24-year-old, who can play fullback and flyhalf, suffered a fractured right fibula during his team’s 9-24 defeat to the Bulls at Loftus Versfeld.

Swanepoel left the field after just 12 minutes of play.

Meanwhile, the Lions also revealed that Willem Alberts is still unavailable due to a calf injury.

The good news for the Johannesburg team is that they will be getting some players back ahead of their clash against the Sharks.

Prop Ruan Dreyer and hooker Jaco Visagie are both available for selection ahead of that trip to Durban.
