Player Ratings: Progress made
The Wallabies picked up where they left off from the opening round encounter to take a 17-0 lead early in the contest. However, things started going pear-shaped as they allowed the All Blacks back into the game and saw their lead trimmed to 17-14 at the half-time interval.
They saw their lead became a deficit early in the second half before the lead exchanged hands on numerous occasions. It seemed as though they bagged the unlikely victory in the 76th minute but failed to maintain that lead as they saw the victory slip out of their hands.

Absolutely dangerous with ball in hand and proved how much of a threat he is with each carry. Special mention for his interception that got the scoring going.

Stuck a few crucial tackles to stop Ioane's momentum but attacking chances were minimal.

Limited chances to run the ball but when he did, he broke the advantage line. Questions will be asked about his defensive work though.

Looked to get himself involved to spark his backline but his usual attacking threat was thwarted for most parts of the game. However, when he sparked, he looked dangerous.

Saw little of the ball and could not make the impact he would have wanted.

Took the game to the opposition and while his overall performance was good, he let himself down with dreadful goal kicking that ultimately cost his team the match.

Remains the Wallabies' breakdown terrier and showed determination to grab a try, however, he slipped too many tackles at crucial times.
