Iqhawe Week Starts in Johannesburg

The Iqhawe (Champion in Zulu) Week for Under-15 teams starts at the Bill Jardine Stadium in Johannesburg on Monday, 1 October 2018.

The Iqhawe Week is a SARU initiative with the SA Legends, started in 2013 to give players from rural teams and teams with a lower profile the chance to meet and show their worth.

There are 14 teams taking part – one from each of the provinces – Blue Bulls, Boland, Border, Eastern Province, Free State, Golden Lions, Griffons, Griquas, Leopards, Pumas, Sharks, South Western Districts, Valke and Western Province.

The main match on Monday will be between Western Province and the Blue Bulls, The last match will be the two teams rated the best at the tournament.

Fixtures are laid down for Monday and the matches for Tuesday and Thursday will be on the basis of strength vs strength.
