Westville punish Kearsney's errors

The game started well for both sides, with Kearsney attacking, but not using the opportunities available.

Westville capitalised on the visitors’ errors to score first from a turnover 5m from the line in the 15th minute of the game. The score remained the same until the 30th minute. With Kearsney on attack, and a break away from Westville running the length of the field, they scored again, to take the halftime score to 17-0.

The second half was more closely contested, with both sides playing good physical rugby. Kearsney scored two tries – the first from winger Josh Muller and the second from prop forward Brad Taylor, following a pick and go close to the line. Jordan Bamber converted the second try. Westville then scored another 17 points from three tries, one of which was converted.

Although the second half was much more closely contested than the first, it didn’t help Kearsney’s cause to receive two yellow cards.
