Big match in PE

The big match – in a sense the biggest of 2004 – happened when the two Greys met in Port Elizabeth, and Grey College lost for the first time since 20 May 2000.

There were derbies at Jeppe and in Potchefstroom, Upington and the Tygerberg area of the Cape. But the biggest was probably in Kimberley where Noord-Kaap won the Griqualand West Cup when they beat fellow-Kimberleyites Diamantveld by the narrowest of margins.. And down in the South Western Districts the Kwaggas beat the Struisies.

In a Helderberg derby Parel Vallei beat Hottentots Holland for the first time ever.
