Province brace themselves for Sharks' danger men

CURRIE CUP SPOTLIGHT: Western Province centre Ruhan Nel knows that his team will face a difficult task trying to contain the Sharks’ danger men in the Currie Cup Final.

The team from Durban will be loaded with Springboks on Saturday and Nel has a few of them on his mind heading into the encounter.

“They got big loose forwards carrying the ball,” said Nel. “The Du Preez brothers like contact, they are very versatile forwards.

“In the backline, you got Sibusiso Nkosi back. After training with him for two weeks at the Boks I know he is a fired-up guy and he brings 100 percent to training.

“Curwin Bosch and Robert du Preez have big boots, so they will be looking for space as well. They are quite a good team.

“They can attack, they can kick into space and they can put you under pressure. I can’t actually pinpoint a weakness, I think we just have to be properly prepared heading into the weekend.”

Nel’s teammate, Dillyn Leyds, is relishing the battle out wide.

“Both backlines have some really talented guys in them,” said Leyds.

“For us, it is a good Test to see how we go against their backs. They got a couple of Springboks, so I think it’s going to be a good challenge for us.

“We know where their strengths lie and they probably know the same about us. At the end of the day it’s just going to be about who can execute under pressure and taking those opportunities that get presented to us.”
