OPINION: Western Province sent an ominous warning to future opponents after they hammered the Golden Lions in Johannesburg in Round Five of Currie Cup 2018.

Province recorded a convincing 65-38 win in what was billed as the “match of the weekend” and that is why players from the Cape side dominate our Team of the Week with nine players.

In our selection this week we have Dillyn Leyds at fullback with Sergeal Petersen and Ruwellyn Isbel on the wings. The midfield consists of Lionel Mapoe and Dan Kriel.

Joshua Stander is our flyhalf with Jano Vermaak coming in at No.9.

In the pack, we have Juarno Augustus, Sias Koen and Kobus van Dyk in the back row. Our second consists of John Schickerling and Rhyno Herbst.

In the front row we have Dayan van der Westhuizen, Siyabonga Ntubeni and Sithembiso Sithole.
