Sharks need Currie Cup Captain
TRANSFER NEWS: The Sharks will have to name a new captain for this year’s Currie Cup season.
According to a South African Afrikaans Newspaper NetWerk24, regular skipper Ruan Botha has signed a short-term contract with Japanese Top League club Kubota Spears.
The lock will link up with Springbok Duane Vermeulen, who joined the side in June 2018.
Former Bulls coach Frans Ludeke is the current head coach of the Kubota Spears.
Botha’s deal means that he will miss the Currie Cup season.
Congratulations to all #OurSharks who were selected in the @Springboks squad for the upcoming @SanzarTRC. Be sure to catch them in action at JONSSON KINGS PARK for their first game against @unionargentina!
