Only three Springboks have been included in the Lions starting XV to face the Cheetahs at Ellis Park on Saturday.

There is one more on the replacement bench.

Ross Cronjé, Courtnall Skosan and Andries Coetzee will make their first appearances in this years' Currie Cup – while Malcolm Marx has been included on the bench.

In other changes Robbie Coetzee starts at hooker and Jacobie Adriaanse returns after a stomach bug kept him out of action last week.

Jaco van der Walt moves to flyhalf and Aphiwe Dyantyi from right to left wing.
