Augustus helps Northampton smash Castres

MATCH REPORT: Northampton Saints launched their Champions Cup title charge with a dominant display over Castres Olympique on Saturday.

The home side scored six tries on their way to a 38-8 win with South African No.8 Juarno Augustus getting a brace,

It did not take long for Northampton Saints to open the scoring with Fraser Dingwall there to touch down after just three minutes.

They continued to add to their tally and the French side were unable to match the Saints’ might.

The Saints then saw out the rest of the first half in the driving seat, heading into the dressing rooms 14-3 up.

The home did not hold off in the second period.

Augustus was the first to touch down on 43 minutes before Curtis Langdon joined the festivities six minutes later.

Augustus was then on hand to seal his double on 62 minutes before teammate Henry Pollock made sure to put even more distance between the two sides in the 74th minute.
