Euro bad boys in the dock on Wednesday

The France centre claimed he was reacting to provocation and issued an apology, having appeared to call Negri "f***ing f****t" in the closing stages at Stade Mayol.

Toulon condemned the comments Bastareaud is alleged to have made, but insist they will stand by their captain.

Rod McKenzie (Scotland), as Chairman, Jennifer Donovan (Ireland) and Becky Essex (England) have been appointed as the disciplinary committee to hear the complaint.

The complaint was made by citing commissioner Dennis Jones (Wales).

Law 9.12 Verbal abuse of a player

Under World Rugby's Sanctions, Law 9.12 carries the following sanction entry points – Low End: 6 weeks; Mid-range: 12 weeks; Top end: 18 to 52 weeks.

* Haskell was sent off for a dangerous late tackle on Harlequins centre Jamie Roberts in the closing stages of Wasps' defeat on Saturday.

Wasps director of rugby Dai Young said he hopes the England flanker's disciplinary record will count in his favour.

Haskell was sent off by match referee, Romain Poite (France), for tackling the Harlequins centre Jamie Roberts dangerously in the 76th minute of the match in contravention of Law 9.13.

 

Jennifer Donovan (Ireland), as Chairman, Rod McKenzie (Scotland) and Becky Essex (England) have been appointed as the independent disciplinary committee for the hearing.

Under World Rugby's Sanctions for Foul Play, Law 9.13 carries the following sanction entry points – Low End: 2 weeks; Mid-range: 6 weeks; Top end: 10 to 52 weeks.
