At the start of the week, the franchise revealed Salmaan Moerat (knee), Sti Sithole (ankle), Frans Malherbe (ankle), Deon Fourie (knee) and Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu (concussion) are all expected to make their return before the end of the year.

On Tuesday, defence coach Norman Laker confirmed that one of those players mentioned above has travelled with the squad to England.

“Salmaan Moerat is back and available for selection,” said Laker.

“Players like Deon Fourie, Evan Roos and Sacha are not ready, but the rest of the group are all fit and ready to go”.

Laker added: “He [Moerat] is a quality human being.

“He is a good leader, so it means a lot to the team.”

Meanwhile, Laker revealed that Feinberg-Mngomezulu should be available ahead of United Rugby Championship derbies against the Lions and the Sharks in Cape Town later this month.

The playmaker suffered a concussion in the 15-21 defeat to the Sharks in Durban on November 30.

“He is allowed to start training from tomorrow [Wednesday] onwards,” Laker explained.

“The doctor said another week will do him good.”

With Feinberg-Mngomezulu and Manie Libbok (concussion against Toulon) both unavailable this week, Jurie Matthee could be asked to fill the No.10 jersey against Harlequins.

“He [Matthee] is 100 percent fit, and yes, he has travelled with the team,” said Laker.
