REACTION: Sharks head coach Sean Everitt believes Springbok captain Siya Kolisi is getting “better and better” with each performance in a Sharks jersey.

Kolisi played 70 minutes of rugby in the Sharks’ 34-26 Rainbow Cup SA victory over the Lions in Durban on Saturday and Everitt is happy with flank’s work rate.

“I think Siya is adapting really well to the style of play,” Everitt told reporters after Saturday’s match.

“His contributions in the game are getting better and better. He is training really well and I am sure you would have noticed that his conditioning has improved a lot.

“He got through 70 minutes of work today [Saturday]. We are very happy with where he is and he was able to push through.

“You guys might think that he doesn’t make many contributions, but when he does, they are hugely effective and they do influence the game.”

While Everitt is happy with the victory, his team’s discipline is still a concern ahead of their match against the Bulls at Loftus Versfeld.

“There were some highs and lows. At times the guys were really good and we played some entertaining rugby and that is what we want to do.

“I think the disappointing side is the number of penalties that we gave away. We gave away 15 penalties last week and this week we gave away 18 penalties and three yellow cards.

“We are not happy about that and that is what put us under the pump and we couldn’t build momentum on the scoreboard.

“It is something that we need to address before we go up to Pretoria.” the coach added.
