The Boks upped their physicality in Cape Town against their archrivals and it was the forwards who were at the forefront of everything good Allister Coetzee's side did during the match.
Marx epitomised the Boks performance with his all-round display and his friend in the Bok squad had nothing but praise for him.
The 23-year-old hooker has also committed his services to SA Rugby and the Lions for the next three years after he signed a dual contract over the weekend.
"Malcolm is my boytjie," said Kitshoff.
"We are good friends in the team and I am really proud of him.
"He has been playing 80 minutes a couple of games in a row now and he's absolutely a beast when it comes to the breakdown and carrying and defensive work.
"I am really proud and I think he is going to have a long Springbok career."
While Marx was the best player on the field, Kitshoff was not far behind with his amazing work rate against the All Blacks.
It was also Kitshoff's first start in the No.1 jersey for the Boks.
"I was very happy to get the start, it was a great honour to wear the No.1 jersey, but it is really disappointing not to win the game at the end.
"The okes really played with their hearts on their sleeves and they really gave it their all."
Kitshoff added: I think the okes playing out of position just brought it and it is really a disappointing result. I am proud of Wilco [Louw] and how he came up today and he dominated the scrum and he brought his physicality when it came to the breakdown and the tackle."
Coetzee also had high praise for both Kitshoff and Marx.
"It’s an open secret to the team that come 2019 we need to have world-class players and he [Kitshoff] falls in that category,' said Coetzee.
"Malcolm Marx was outstanding. Our captain [Eben Etzebeth], throughout this whole year, has been leading from the front – he has been outstanding. So, that is what we are looking for – getting five or six players in the pack to be world-class leading up to World Cup 2019. That is the plan."
