Where to now for 'embarrassed' Boks?
It was the New Zealanders' biggest ever win over their old foes, while it was also the Boks' biggest defeat on home soil in their history.
The All Blacks scored nine tries on their way to victory at Kings Park, while the Boks could only muster 15 points via Morne Steyn's boot.
"We disappointed everyone," Coetzee told reporters after the game.
"We disappointed the country and we disappointed ourselves. There are no excuses. I think we must give credit to the All Blacks. They are a world-class team."
Coetzee believes the gulf in class between the two teams is down to the fact that the Boks are still in a rebuilding phase. He also believes there are not many players available to him that can help their cause at the moment.
"Sometimes the effort could be your best, but it is not good enough," Coetzee added
"The players and the coaching team will have to have a hard look at ourselves and it is only us that can turn it around. I don't want to say people must be patient out there
"The All Blacks, after every World Cup come out the following year with a stronger team, with a better-prepared team, while we had to start from scratch and rebuild. So systems are important.
"I will have to be patient with the players. If there are players out there that can strengthen the squad we will certainly have a look at that, but I can guarantee you there are not many out there."
The final 20 minutes was hard to watch for the home fans with the All Blacks running in five tries, while the Boks hardly looked like crossing the whitewash with their inept attacking game.
"Off and on the field they are just in a better class," said Coetzee. "We are definitely hurting almost to the extent that we feel very embarrassed about the last 20 minutes."
South Africa ended third on the Rugby Championship standings after the Wallabies beat Argentina 33-21 in the final game of the tournament in London on Saturday.
The Boks begin their end-of-year tour with a match against the Barbarians on November 5 followed by Tests against England, Italy and Wales.
