Du Preez blow for Sharks
Daniel has been sidelined with a groin injury since May and brother Jean-Luc du Preez has joined him in the sickbay.
According to Sharks coach Robert du Preez, who is also the father of the twins, Jean-Luc is carrying an undisclosed "niggle".
Another injury concern for the coach, ahead of this Round Two Curie Cup match, is veteran wing Odwa Ndungane – who is carrying a hamstring strain and will undergo a late fitness test.
Du Preez also made a significant number of changes to his starting XV.
Curwin Bosch, who started at flyhalf in the 33-10 win over the Pumas in Nelspruit last Friday, will play at fullback this week.
Inny-Christian Radebe, who impressed after he came off the bench last week, will start at flyhalf.
Stefan Ungerer replaces veteran Michael Claassens at scrumhalf in the last of the backline changes.
In the front row Thomas du Toit comes in at tighthead prop for Lourens Adriaanse, who was called up to the Springbok team this week.
Lubabalo Mtembu will start at No.8, with Philip van der Walt moving to flank to fill the spot vacated by Jean-Luc du Preez's injury.
Ndungane has been bracketed on the bench with Heimar Williams – pending his fitness test.
