Ferriera's contract with the Lions Rugby Company is due to expire in October 2018. However, he has not been included in the side's 2018 Super Rugby staff-sheet.
The CEO of Lions Rugby Company Straeuli revealed that Ferreira is in negotiations over a switch to Munster at present.
Meanwhile, Super Rugby head coach Zacharia 'Swys' de Bruin is very excited about the prospect for the future and working with exciting home-grown coaches that are part of the coaching structures for the Lions.
Joining De Bruin is former Blue Bulls scrumhalf and centre Joey Mongalo. He will take up the position as Breakdown and Backline coach.
In 2016 he was defence coach for the Junior Springboks at the Junior World Championships in France.
The Lions U19 side were crowned nationals champions in 2016 and 2017 with Mongalo as head coach. He also acted as Lions Currie Cup breakdown and skills coach.
Another feather in his coaching cap was being Finalist for the Coach of the Year Gauteng Sports Awards.
Mongalo's fellow U19 coach, Philip Lemmer has been named the Super Rugby Forwards coach.
During 2016 and 2017, he coached University of Johannesburg (Varsity Cup) and the Lions U19 forwards – the side became the first u19 side to successfully defend their national title.
Ivan van Rooyen, who joined the Lions in 2009, retained his position as strength and conditioning for the upcoming 2018 season.
He became head of Strength and Conditioning in 2012.
The Lions continued success since 2014 and subsequent Super Rugby finals in 2016 and 2017 were also due to the high level of fitness installed by Van Rooyen.
During his time at the Lions, the union have delivered 17 Springboks through their ranks.
