Pulu, once dubbed the quickest man in New Zealand, has had an exceptional Super Rugby season with the Chiefs, but said he wanted a change.

“I have enjoyed my time with the Chiefs immensely but am very much looking forward to moving to Canberra and settling in with my new club,” said the 28-year-old, who has scored 14 tries since his Chiefs debut in 2016.

“The Brumbies are a well-known and well-respected organisation and I have been impressed by what I have seen and heard when playing against them.”

His signing coincides with Speight moving from the Brumbies to Ulster on a short-term deal that will see him back in Canberra on December 31 in advance of the 2019 Super Rugby season.

“This is a fresh challenge for me and I hope to embrace it by relishing every moment and by adding value to the group as best I can,” he said.

“I can’t wait to arrive in Belfast and get to work with my new teammates.”
