Bulls coach John Mitchell said it was a 'good' win and that the squad depth 'showed good signs'.

However, it was the team's ability to fight through the tough periods that really impressed the coach.

"It was important to be patient," Mitchell said of the weekend's win, adding that the 'gees' (spirit) of the players was incredible.

He said it was important for the players to learnt to fight when things get tough.

"You have to fight right to the end and we demonstrated that," Mitchell said.

"You have to win these close ones.

"In our building phase, as a team, I would rather learn to get through this period, rather than have a bad run of results later down the track.

"I would rather take the hits now and learn how we can finish games.

"We just have to start doing it [win] on a regular basis."

The Bulls have a bye, before resuming their campaign against the Sharks in Week Nine.

"Eight weeks of rugby takes its toll," Mitchell said, welcoming next week's break.
