Maties still the best in the Cape
The win sees the Maties extend their lead at top of the Varsity Cup table.
Second-place Wits continued to punch above their weight with a comfortable 52-18 win over CUT.
Reigning champions Tuks suffered another defeat this time to the likes of NWU-Pukke in Pretoria.
While in Johannesburg, UJ climb to the fourth spot with 69-8 demolitions of the Madibaz.

Maties 33-14 UCT-Ikeys
It took just two minutes for Maties to score their first try. Dangerman Duncan Saal got his name on the scoresheet thanks to great work by inside centre Chris Smit, who powered through three the Ikeys' defenders.
Just before the first quarter Maties extended the lead with a penalty try.
As the match unfolded Maties continued to produced stellar rugby which handed them a lead 26-0 lead at the break.
UCT-Ikeys finally got in the game the second half. They managed to score two tries thanks to hooker Cuan Hablutzel and Stefano de Gouveia.
However, it was little too late as the Maroon Machine added another score to their tally for the win.

CUT 18-52 Wits
The hosts were off to a fine start when Denver Klue put his side ahead with the boot, 3-0.
Wits hit back through seven-point tries courtesy of David Cary and Lwazi Monakali, respectively. Ruan Wasserman pulled one back before the break, but a third for Wits by Ameer Williams meant that the visitors had a 25-8 lead.
In the second stanza, Wits added another three seven-point tries – two by Kwanele Ngema and one by Ayabilela Mdudi.
CUT's Stefan Kruger scored his side only try in the second half however in the final five minutes Wits ran in two long-distance tries to conclude perfect result on the road.

UJ 69-8 Madibaz
It was always going to be a difficult challenge for Madibaz. Despite their valid efforts the hosts were just to supreme for the visitors.
UJ's impeccable performance made sure they had a solid 30-8 lead at the break.
There were few inconsistencies from both teams in the second half, but UJ always looked the better team. They sealed the victory with great tries form Tatendaishe Mujawo, Austin Davids, Hendrik-Petrus van Schoor and Malembe Mpofu.
Superb kicking from Kobus Englebrecht also played a significant role in the final score.

UP-Tuks 26-40 NWU-Pukke
A rain-drenched field greeted the teams as UP-Tuks shot out the blocks as they made massive inroads into NWU's territory but the men from Potchefstroom weathered the storm with the home team only managing a penalty goal courtesy of flyhalf Cliven Loubcher.
The lack of reward for their efforts seemed to have taken the wind out of the University of Pretoria's sails as NWU piled on the pressure which culminated in scrumhalf Chriswell September collecting a pop pass to dive over for the opening try in the 23rd minute. Flyhalf Schalk Hugo added the conversion.
NWU-Pukke extended their lead with time up in the first half as a dominant scrum allowed flank Gideon van der Merwe to score a converted try to hand the visitors a 20-3 lead at the break.
In the second half, Pukke continued their onslaught with three additional tries.
However, the hosts made the scoreboard look a little more respectable as they ran in three tries in the final ten minutes but it was a case of too little, too late.
