Whitehead, Gqoboka and Agaba are the only players to have given notice in the wake of the ongoing cash crisis at the Port Elizabeth-based franchise.

EPRU stated they are aware that the South African Rugby Players Association have advised players that EP Rugby is in breach of contract, due to the non payment of salaries by November 10, and have advised that players can therefore terminate their contracts.

SARPA have also advised those who do not have alternative employment offers that they are not obligated to return to training.

A letter from the president, Cheeky Watson, in which he explains the current situation has been sent to all the staff and players and has asked the players to "bear with us just a little longer."

The Kings are still experiencing cash flow issues and will not be in a position to release any funds as they continue to engage with various stakeholders to find a solution.
