Van der Merwe hearing on hold

Free State Cheetahs prop Schalk van der Merwe’s disciplinary hearing, scheduled to take place on Tuesday, has been postponed until Wednesday.

The player received a red card in the 74th minute of their Currie Cup clash against the Blue Bulls last Saturday for lifting opposition fullback Jurgen Visser in a tackle and failing to bring him back to the ground safely, therefore breaching Law 10.4 (j).

The hearing will take place at 11.00 in Cape Town. Advocate André Oosthuizen will serve as the judicial officer.
